Hello from The AI Night,

Today in AI:

  • Anthropic's Mythos AI Found 10,000 Bugs

  • OpenAI Launches ChatGPT for PowerPoint

  • Pomelli Now Builds Brand Identities and Websites

Here's the deal: Anthropic published its first Project Glasswing update, detailing results from its unreleased Claude Mythos Preview model. In one month, roughly 50 partners found over ten thousand high- or critical-severity vulnerabilities in critical internet software.

The Breakdown:

  • Cloudflare found 2,000 bugs, 400 high- or critical, with a false positive rate it rates better than humans.

  • Mozilla fixed 271 vulnerabilities in Firefox 150, over ten times more than Firefox 148 with Claude Opus 4.6.

  • The UK AI Security Institute reports Mythos Preview solved both its cyber ranges end to end.

  • Anthropic scanned 1,000+ open-source projects, finding 6,202 estimated high- or critical flaws among 23,019 total.

  • A wolfSSL bug (CVE-2026-5194) let attackers forge certificates to spoof bank or email sites.

  • Anthropic is withholding Mythos-class models publicly, citing inadequate misuse safeguards.

The bigger picture: Ten thousand critical vulnerabilities in one month. Maintainers asked Anthropic to slow down because they couldn't patch fast enough. That is the new problem. AI finds bugs faster than humans fix them. Anthropic is withholding Mythos publicly because defenders aren't ready. A company choosing not to release its best model tells you more about where AI capability stands than any benchmark ever could.

Here's the deal: OpenAI released ChatGPT for PowerPoint, a beta add-in that works directly inside Microsoft's presentation software. Users can create slides, edit existing decks, and turn source files into presentation-ready content using plain language.

The Breakdown:

  • The add-in builds slides from notes, docs, spreadsheets, prompts, or an existing deck, keeping output editable in PowerPoint.

  • It can rewrite content, tighten hierarchy, add sections, and polish drafts on command.

  • ChatGPT reads deck structure and can summarize a presentation's story or flag where the narrative is weak.

  • It works inside PowerPoint and preserves editable slide content rather than exporting static files.

  • Available in beta globally for ChatGPT Business, Enterprise, Edu, Teachers, K-12, plus Free, Go, Pro, and Plus users.

The bigger picture: OpenAI just put a competing product inside its biggest investor's software. Microsoft built Copilot into PowerPoint. Now ChatGPT sits one tab over. Every user who picks ChatGPT over Copilot inside Microsoft's own app is proving that owning the surface no longer means owning the AI layer. That is a lesson Microsoft is learning from its own partner.

Here's the deal: Google has added agentic capabilities to Pomelli, its Google Labs tool for small and medium businesses. The new Pomelli Agent builds a Business DNA brand identity, then generates brand books and full websites.

The Breakdown:

  • The Pomelli Agent constructs a Business DNA brand identity from uploaded product docs and photos, or through a chat conversation.

  • Businesses with no existing materials can build their brand identity directly with the agent.

  • Brand books compile the brand's custom images, fonts, and colors into one comprehensive guide.

  • The website feature designs and launches a complete site in a few clicks.

  • Pomelli launched in Google Labs last year, focused on on-brand content for SMBs.

The bigger picture: Most small businesses don't have a brand. They have a Fiverr logo and colors they picked once. Pomelli turns that gap into a Google product. Build your brand, generate assets, launch your site, all inside one agent. Canva, Wix, and Squarespace each own one step. Google just connected all three. Nobody rebuilds a brand identity after it works.

2026 State of AEO Report

A year ago, most marketers weren't thinking about AI search. Now it's one of the fastest moving channels in the industry and nobody has a playbook yet.

So we built one. We surveyed hundreds of marketers to find out how they're approaching answer engine optimization, where they're investing, what's actually working, and what isn't.

The result is the 2026 State of AEO Report. Real data. Real strategies. A clear picture of where AI search is headed and how to get ahead of it.

What else you need to know:

Claude Code's auto mode is now available on the Pro plan and supports Sonnet 4.6 alongside Opus 4.7, letting developers trigger autonomous runs with Shift+Tab after updating.

DeepSeek announced it is making its DeepSeek-V4-Pro discount permanent, with the reduced pricing now extended through May 31, 2026, 15:59 UTC for developers building on the model.

Polsia raised $30 million at a $250 million valuation with zero employees, where orchestrated AI agents run the company end-to-end and reportedly managed the fundraising process themselves.

Google's Gemini app launched Daily Brief, a feature that proactively surfaces priorities in a digestible to-do list, now available to Plus, Pro, and Ultra subscribers 18+ in the U.S.

Google's Gemini now connects to more third-party apps including OpenTable, Canva, and Instacart, letting users book restaurant tables, design flyers, and order groceries directly through the assistant.

That’s it for today’s edition of The AI Night.

Our goal is to cut through the noise, surface what actually changed, and explain why it matters.
